Why is labor education added to school lessons？It's because the teenagers do too little housework and look down on manual labor jobs, like cleaning and delivering food. A recent study showed that primary and middle school students in China only spend an average of 12 minutes a day on chores, compared to 72 minutes in the US, 42 minutes in South Korea and 30 minutes in France.
In addition, some parents see doing chores as something unimportant for students. They think it is of the most importance for students to study and get good grades. However, labor education must be paid more attention to help students have social values and develop an interest in labor.
